I was very happy to have the FishSaver aboard the other day. I was fishing for mangrove snapper over a wreck site when I caught a gorgeous 10-pound red snapper. However, the red snapper season had closed a few days previously, so the fish had to be released. Although the water was only 62-feet deep, the fish floundered at surface and couldn’t get back down, so I scooped it back up with my landing net and re-released it with the FishSaver Pro device. It worked well, thankfully – I’d have hated to kill such a beautiful fish that could not be legally kept… My only constructive feedback is that (1) the hook on my device was NOT very sharp right out of the package, and I really had to push to get it through the lower lip of the fish, and (2) the loop forming the upper line attachment point tended to catch things – my leader line and landing net mesh, in this case. I have already sharpened the hook, and will know to keep the hook away from lines and nets next time. Thanks for this clever and convenient product!
